FAQ
What happens to my data?
Uploaded files are parsed in memory on the server and used only to compute your report for the current session. They are never written to disk, never stored in a database, and are gone when your session expires. Customer, staff, and payment columns are detected and rejected before any processing happens.
Do I need an account?
No. The free scan needs no signup and no account. The paid report is a one-time checkout — you only give us an email address for the receipt.
Which POS systems work?
Raw Lightspeed Retail X-Series and Shopify exports are recognized automatically — headers like Lightspeed’s “Supply price” or Shopify’s “Cost per item” map with zero re-mapping. Square and most other POS exports work too, since any CSV with standard columns (SKU, quantity, cost, sales) is understood.
Can this mess with my POS?
No. ShelfReport is read-only by design. It only reads the CSV you upload — it has no connection to your POS, no API keys, and no way to write to any system you use.

How accurate are the numbers?
Every figure is computed from your own data, and the full report shows the math and the source row behind each number. Estimates (like stockout exposure) are labelled as directional. Reports are informational only — verify before acting on them.
